People say that being optimistic is just how an idealist would act like. This is because, optimistic people hold on to the beliefs of the ideals, the perfect ideals. They believe that something idealistic can exist, and does exist, but have yet to come upon. They believe that good things, everything that they dream of, hope for, can come true, only that it just needs time and patience.
On the other hand, some people might say that optimistic people might be a little too overboard on their beliefs. They think that optimists are in denial. Do not have the ability to admit that something so good to be true, cannot and will not happen, in other words, very rare.
Some people might say that pessimists are the realistic bunch of the group. They can identify what ideas are realistic and can be acted upon, and what abstracts are just plain imagination. They can see the reality of it all, the truth, eventhough it is to hard to accept.
Their only downfall is, they cannot imagine the unimaginable. They do not have the principles of "looking on the brightside of things". In some way, that could really turn things into a very negative atmosphere making effectivity less productive.
