I like to think that i am very wise beyond my years compared to my friends. I like to think that i am an experienced person. It's the only way i get to feel good about myself once in a while.
For example, all the things i've never done but others have. I'd like to think that i have a good reason not to and that other people are just following the tide, letting the world make choices for them and cheat their way into life. From that, i know that i am wiser.
Be that as it may, somehow this video down here just throws everything out of balance.
Somehow this song just makes it hard to understand. Zaahira, i need your help in deciphering the lyrics like you did with Penelope.
Or maybe it's me. I'm just puzzled with the music video not being aligned with the song.

Haha, im so glad you wanted my help! cuz i sure as hell have nothing to do now. Haha. The first time i read the lyrics, well i interpret it in my own words lah kan and sortoff came to a conclusion that this person obvioulsy is feeling lonely, angry and pretty much living in a lie and is probably trying to kill himself but a friend is trying to talk him out of it(????), hence the sentence "I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend". Anyway, that was my first impression and stuff but when i went to songmeanings.net...HECK my interpretation was sortoff correct!! *does the victory dance*

ReplyDeleteFirstly the suicidal boy obviously is A) embarassed by his stupidity to commit suicide and B) probably ashamed of himself with all the lies he told himself and to his friends. So...kawan die ni would understand why the boy wouldnt wanna see him again cuz what he did was probably too thick to even cover it up with a mask right? Pendek kata, his friend is very understangding towards his situation whereby he knows that the suicidal boy mcm tak leh look at him the same way again after what happen and stuff.
Then again, this is just a thought...

And I do not think anyone knows what they are doing here", i think what the write means is that, yeah he's dead okey, but org yang yg dtg funeral die ni, tahu tak ape diorang tgh tgk? U know what i mean? cuz, this boy kan a very broken person and very vulnerable and shit. And when the writer said "And your friends have left too, you've been dismissed" meaning, bile org semua dah selesai dgn the funeral, it as though they are done with him. Memory tu tak semestinya ade lah kan.
